Odetta Scott - AMIE

Odetta Scott

Associate Director, Operations and Quality

Odetta Scott, a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, serves as an Associate Director of Indirect Procurement for Collins Aerospace (CA), a division of Raytheon Technologies (RTX). Odetta manages engineering outsource supplier relationships ($~200M) and is responsible for deploying a Collins-wide Managed Service Provider and Vendor Managed Solution Initiative that drives process standardization, compliance, supplier rationalization, and savings.

Odetta is passionate and tremendously dedicated to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activism. She has served as the Committee Chair for Leading Inspired Females in Technology (LIFT) Recognition and Retention and Advocacy Council. Its mission is to create an environment where women can achieve extraordinary outcomes by bringing their authentic selves to work every day. As the Engineering African American Advocacy Council Development Programs Chair, she was instrumental in leading the team to develop the STEM pipeline for executive talent. Odetta also serves as RTX Board of Directors member for Advancing Minorities’ Interests in Engineering (AMIE). Her commitment drove her to co-found a woman-owned consortium whose vision is to accelerate women in STEM, WeTECH Rocks. She continues to push the DEI journey through her engagement with other small businesses and community activities. In addition, Odetta was recognized with the 2021 Diversity Leadership Award by the Women of Color STEM Conference and with the Dave Barclay Affirmative Action Award by Black Engineer of the Year Award STEM Conference in 2023. Odetta also received the Collins Supply Chain Diversity Equity and Inclusion Ambassador Award in April 2023.

Odetta attended the US Naval Academy for two years with aspirations of becoming an astronaut. Due to an unexpected illness, her dream was deferred, and Odetta obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University. Odetta received her MBA from Jackson State University and a Master of Science in Organization Development from Pepperdine University. Though life offered her an unexpected detour, Odetta believes things worked out not only for her good but also provided her the ability to be a light to those she faithfully serves.
